'Her ability to evoke myriad landscapes and visceral, sometimes uncomfortable images'
Caroline trained as a sculptor at Goldsmiths College. Unable to afford a studio, and needing to work from home as a mother, ill-fortune became good when it propelled her to find her natural art form as a narrative poet.
She constructs poetry like sculpture, unfolding an idea from different angles and perspectives, creating space and depth within a compressed space. In sculpture the technique would be 'relievo schiacciato'. Translated into 2 dimensions, her poetry uses a similar technique to build and reveal layers in a conceptual narrative.
